Cycling enthuses young and old. Some love to pedal on Dutch bikes along the flat. Others prefer high-tech bikes, on which they climb up into the mountains and over the passes. Both are possible in Carinthia’s Natural Arena to which Kötschach-Mauthen belongs.
The routes along the river Gail are ideal for all those who want to pedal on a stately old workhorse through the countryside without too much effort. The R3 cycle track from Kötschach-Mauthen to Villach is a total of 90 kilometres. The best bit – the track is mostly downhill, so that cyclists can easily cover the whole distance.
Carinthia’s Natural Arena is one of the best areas for mountain bikers . This is partly because nature is in control here, and partly because there are numerous marked mountain trails for MTB enthusiasts. All in all, the Natural Arena is Carinthia’s largest mountain bike area: 800 kilometres of tracks are marked, at all levels of difficulty.
Nobody needs to travel out to us with their own bike on their car roof. The hotel Kürschner offers you very well maintained bikes of all kinds, and also bikes and helmets for children.
